At Waterloo Central Railway, you’ll experience a historical passenger train ride that starts in Waterloo, and travels to the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, Village of St. Jacobs and Town of Elmira. We offer exciting experiences for family fun, a girl’s day out, or something unique to do as a couple or with a group of friends.

Travel in heritage passenger coached pulled behind either steam or diesel locomotives. Experience themed train events including THE POLAR EXPRESSTM, Great Train Robbery, Santa and Christmas Trains,
Trick or Treat Train, The Sugar Bush Breakfast Tour, Waterloo Country Mennonite Farm Tours and more!

We are proudly operated by the Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society (SOLRS), a not-for-profit, registered charitable organization. We are operated by a very talented team of volunteers who are dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of heritage railway equipment. All ticket proceeds go towards supporting restoration programs that are ultimately used for the education and enjoyment of our guests.
