Moo, Neigh, or Roar? Your Choice!
We've got a riddle for you: what do Shakespeare, Immanuel Kant, and Mahatma Ghandi have in common? You might guess that they love language, or interesting philosophical discussions which may be true but all 3 have gone on record with their love for animals! And we couldn't agree more. Visiting a petting zoo, going to a farm, or stopping by a ranch is a fantastic activity for a warm summer day.
Here are some places you can check out:
Galloping Goat Farm (Ottawa Region)
Salem Alpacas Farm (Central Ontario)
You may not have known that goats gallop, and this farm is sure to please. Have fun with the big goats, mini-goats and many more animals.
How did these amazing, cuddly animals make their way from South America to Ontario? Come by this farm and find out!
Wagonwheel Ranch (Northern Ontario)
Safari Niagara (Niagara Region)
In the mood for a relaxing trail ride? Head north, and enjoy the beauty of the Boreal Forest from the comfort of a saddle.
With more than 400 species at this zoo, you're sure to find an animal to marvel at. Check out the Burmese python, the spider monkey, or the snow leopard!
Lionel's Pony Farm & Petting Zoo (GTA)
Get your mini-carrots ready and head here to pet the ponies! Also make sure to catch a glimpse of the proud peacocks and the shy deer.
Whether your favourite animal is your family dog, or a baby tiger, visiting a zoo or farm is sure to put a smile on your face this month. For more great spots to see, visit our Animals & Zoos page.
