What are YOU going to do this weekend?

What are you doing this Civic Day Long Weekend?

Rain or shine, it’s all about being “one with water” during this fun long weekend! Bored with the same old humdrum ideas of how to make your weekend time more fun? Looking beyond running through your backyard sprinkler this end of July weekend? Here are some great ideas to put some “wet” in your weekend!

Overnight Stays that Include Water Park Play!

article1_july282016.jpgEscape to the Niagara region for a fun-filled, wet-weekend getaway at Great Wolf Lodge. Splash your way through their massive 84-degree indoor water park packed with wild rides, water slides, wave-pool and splashing area for the little ones. There are dry attractions to enjoy too! Or head to Central Ontario to the Blue Mountain Resort - Plunge Aquatic Centre. There’s loads to enjoy at the resort including refreshing family fun with waterslides, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, or just sitting by the docks under the hot summer sun. If you are heading to Southwestern Ontario, Bingeman’s is the place to be! Stay for a day or a full weekend getaway and get wet in the “Big Splash Waterpark” that includes a heated wave pool, Spray N’ Play for the kiddies and HUGE water slides for swooshing down fun! A “hidden gem” in Ottawa region is Travelodge West Hotel which includes an amazing indoor water park with wave pool and large twisting water slide plus a free breakfast to help guests have endless energy while enjoying waterpark fun!

Outdoor Wild Water Adventures & More:

article2_july282016.jpgPlan for all day fun in water and sun at Earl Haig Family Park. It’s a fun-filled adventure for families and children of all ages in central Brantford. Lots of water attractions including a spray pad, swimming pool, waterslide, a lazy river and more! Or head 20 minutes out of Ottawa to Mont Cascades with world-class water rides & water play areas. It’s a great place for the family to cool down under the hot summer sun! Heading toward the Niagara region – pop over the border to Darian Lake, known as NY’s largest theme park destination with rides, concerts and a water-park like no other. This year’s must-try is the new “Rip Curl” ride or just coast along the lazy river. Or visit Calypso Theme Water-Park in Eastern Ontario, known proudly as Canada’s biggest and best theme water-park. Enjoy days of fun with more than 36 waterslides, 100+ water games, Canada’s largest wave pool and its tallest waterslide tower, a Kongo theme river and so much more! It is a place you must visit this summer season!

Water Fun Without the Sun!

article3_july282016.jpgWho says rainy days can’t be fun? Enjoy these indoor water-parks out of the sun! Visit the Chelsea Toronto in the downtown core for a fun swim or a fast ride down their 130 foot corkscrew waterslide and there is no age limit! How about a great day at Americana - Waves Indoor Water Park, known as the best value indoor water park in the Niagara region.  It has a retractable roof so you can enjoy the 25,000 sq ft water park extravaganza filled with splashing waves and waterslides in rain or shine! Take a quick trip just north of Toronto to Nottawasaga Inn Resort where jaw dropping fun awaits those who are brave enough to take on the three storey 100 ft waterslide. Or just splash around in their indoor Tropical Rainforest theme swimming pool. The Wave Pool in north GTA is a great place to play in the big waves, lounge on comfy water mats, or soothe your body in the warm water of the swirl pool. Or swoosh down the 160ft thrilling water slide! They even have life jackets available for free and swimming lessons on site too!

Create Your Own “Water-Park Adventure”:

article4_july282016.jpgCreate your own “Water Park” adventures this weekend. Experience thrills for the whole family with Grand River Rafting in SW Ontario. Enjoy guided river rafting tours, or if you like things a bit calmer, rent a canoe, tube, paddle board or kayak instead. Heading east? River Run Rafting is all about adventures with family rafting excursions that take you through beautiful scenic views of the Ottawa River. Why not spend the day splashing around at the famous Wasaga Beach - the longest, fresh water beach in the world! Don’t miss the breathtaking sunsets after your day of water fun in the sun. Ahoy Rentals is Kingston’s only “on the water” equipment rental company where you can create your own unique experience. Perhaps you want to be a skipper and sail for the day. A quiet mellow kayak or canoe ride or paddle board are also on offer. They offer onsite lessons in all areas or let someone else guide you through a Skippered Sailing Charter for the day. Let your own wild water adventures begin!
