The gardens are growing, flowers are blooming – there’s so much to do at this time of year!  One of the things I love to do (if I can get out of the house early enough) is check out the Farmer’s Markets where you can always get amazing local produce, delicious baked goods, local crafts and just enjoy the smells, tastes, sights and community feeling of the market.

From May to October, the Orangeville Farmer’s Market is open on Saturdays from 8am-1pm.  If you’re an early bird, it’s a perfect time to see what your local farmers, artists and businesses have to offer.  Orangeville is celebrating its 150th birthday this year, so there’s bound to be lots of special things in store!
Rated one of the top 10 markets in the country, the Cambridge Farmer’s Market has been in operation since 1830.  Vendors at the year-round Saturday morning or summer only Wednesday morning market sell everything from locally grown fruits and vegetables (including organic) to baked goods, meats, cheeses, farm fresh eggs, and one-of-a-kind crafts.

There’s always something happening at the Byward Market!  Established in 1826, the market is perfectly situated in the heart of downtown Ottawa.  Within walking distance of the Parliament Buildings, the Market is full of fantastic restaurants, cafes, galleries, shops, museums, nightclubs and more.  A trip to Ottawa wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Byward Market.
The Midland Farmer’s Market was established 3 years ago as a community event to celebrate and promote the farmers, artisans, artists, musicians and businesses of the Midland and Simcoe County.  Every Sunday from May to October (9am-2pm) this wonderful tourist attraction is home to incredible fresh and organic produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, jewellery, skin care, ceramics, honey, sauces, herbs and so much more.
