Held at two locations, The Kortright Center for Conservation & Bruce’s Mill, this annual festival is a wonderful outing for the whole family. Until April 7th you can stroll through the maple forest, learn about the history of maple syrup and see how it’s made today.  There are horse drawn wagon rides and of course, an abundance of maple delicacies (ok, candy!) to sample.
On March 23rd & 24th, Eastern Ontario celebrates the 12th annual Maple in the County Festival. Great for all ages. Enjoy pancakes & s’mores, petting zoos, lumberjack shows, cooking classes, craft markets & lots more. When you’re done filling your belly, come on out to the first annual Sugar Shack Shin Dig featuring a maple themed meal and live entertainment.

Take the family on a tour of Maple Lane where guides in Pioneer costumes from the 1890’s demonstrate how to tap maple trees and make delicious maple syrup and sugar!  Tour the 100 year old Spruce Lane Farmhouse and take a wagon ride to the pancake house for fresh, hot pancakes with syrup. Don’t forget to try the fresh maple sugar and wonderful maple taffy!
For 3 sweet weekends in March, the McLean Berry Farm celebrates the outdoors and the delicious taste of maple. The 20th annual MapleFest has something fun for everyone from live music to wagon rides, maple syrup tasting & tree tapping. Visitors can try twirling their own maple syrup or go for a walk on snowshoes in the sugarbush.

Every year the Tundra Swans make a 6,000 km round trip journey from Chesapeake Bay in Maryland to Canada’s Arctic where they spend the summer.  Throughout March, thousands of these magnificent birds return to their annual resting place just south of Grand Bend, giving Ontarians a chance to witness this wonder of nature.

On March 23rd at 8:30 pm, hundreds of millions of people around the world will come together to support the largest environmental event in history.
