Prince Edward County is a magical place. Its amazing natural beauty has inspired many local artists and the bounty from the land is out of this world! The region has been designated as the provinces newest Viticultural Area – a term that is used to identify the origin of a wine and its grapes – so we’ve highlighted some special wineries as well as wonderful cheese producers (to go with the wine, of course) to give you a delicious taste of Prince Edward County.

Wineries (Eastern Ont.)

Two relatively new wineries in the region are Red Tail Vineyards and Rosehall Run Red Tail Vineyards is the only winery in Canada that can be considered truly environmentally friendly. It operates on solar power and follows strict organic practices in the vineyard and in the winery. Rosehall Run has been receiving critical acclaim for its delicious wines and is considered one of the top wineries in the province.
The Bonnechere Caves are truly a wonder of nature.  Go deep underground and take a guided tour of the magnificent caves millions of years old, go on a fossil hunt, marvel at the stalactites hanging from the ceiling or view the waterfalls. This is an exciting, educational and fun outing that the whole family can enjoy.

Cheese Producers (Eastern Ont.)
Travel Travel Travel Travel Travel Travel Travel
For over 100 years, Black River Cheese and Ivanhoe Cheese  have been perfecting the art of producing delicious cheeses. Both have their roots firmly established in Prince Edward County and have been supplying the province with high quality cheese for over a century.  You can visit their retail stores and catch a glimpse of how their delicacies are produced.
The Parkway follows the course of the Loyalist settlement that started in 1784 after the American Revolution. For those interested in history, architecture and the natural beauty of the area, it’s a great outing. You can cycle or drive along the route and stop at any one of the 125 heritage buildings or 40 archaeological sites along the way.
