Crunching through the fall leaves is one thing, but what about enjoying the colour changes this fall from the comfort of a passenger train?  All across the province, you’ll find many ways to admire the leaves in comfort and style!

Come and see what inspired the famous paintings of the Group of Seven as you travel through the majestic landscape of Northern Ontario. This one day wilderness excursion & guided tour takes you 114 miles north of Sault Ste Marie. The train takes you right down into the belly of the Canyon where you can get off the train and explore the beauty of this 1.2 billion year old canyon park on foot.
Riding the scenic train from Port Stanley, you will explore the beautiful scenery of the region.  The Port Stanley Terminal Rail also offers special event train rides as well as group charters.  South Simcoe Railway is another option in the region for a beautiful fall colours train ride.  This trip takes you on a narrated excursion through the Beeton Creek Valley.

All year long, you can explore the picturesque views of the Credit Valley and Hills of the Headwaters as you ride the Credit Valley Explorer Tour Train.  If you’re interested in touring the Oak Ridges Moraine region, then you can ride the York Durham Heritage Railway.  Themed trips are also available at special times of year, like Halloween and Christmas.
October 12 is the last day this year to take a ride on the Portage Flyer Train in Muskoka Heritage Place.  This short train ride (about 30 minutes long) will take you along the Muskoka River to the Fairy Lake station.  Year round, you can visit the Muskoka Museum where you can learn all about the fascinating history of this popular vacation destination.

Owen Sound Salmon Tour
You can hike, bike or drive this free tour, which explores the amazing journey of the mighty Chinook salmon up the Sydenham River.  Owen Sound is one of the few places in Ontario where you can watch the salmon spawning in their natural habitat and then migrate upstream to lay their eggs in the shallow waters before winter. (Southwestern Ont)

Halton County Radial Railway & Streetcar Museum
History buffs will love this museum, which explores the history of the electric railway in Ontario and Canada.  It’s the largest and oldest museum of its kind in Ontario.  Come for the history and enjoy unlimited scenic rides on the streetcars, which even stops at the museum’s famous ice cream shop.
