Ghost Tours
Haunted Farms & Corn Mazes

Ontario can be a very scary place, as you’ll learn on one of the many ghost tours and haunted walks available around the province. There are the Haunted Walks of Kingston, Ottawa & Toronto, which take visitors to the scarier side of these cities. Ghost Walks & Dark History Tours have tours in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Hamilton & surrounding areas – you’ll visit some of the most haunted places in Canada.  Burlington Ghost Walks explores the ghosts that reside in Burlington & the Halton region. Boo!
A great place to get into the Halloween spirit is at a Farm. We think of farms as great family outings, but during the month of October, they are a much scarier place. You can get lost in a maze at Hanes Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch – if you visit at night, it’s a more daunting expedition with spooky Halloween music to keep you company.  Maple Hill Urban Farm has a Night Maze Adventure.  Puddicombe Estate Farm & Winery hosts the Halloween Ho-Down on weekends in the month of October.

Fort Henry National Historic Sight transforms into Fort Fright (Eastern Ont) for Halloween. This special tour will scare your pants off as you tour the haunted hallways & ride the special Halloween rides like The Vortex & the Cannonball Ride.  You can get a pass to the Fort as well as to the incredible Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village where you can see the
display of more than 6,000 beautifully hand carved pumpkins.  Fort William Historical Park hosts the very scary Haunted Fort Night. Your visit will include scary tales, creepy tours and plenty of things to make your skin crawl.
Canada’s Wonderland Halloween Haunt  looks like one of the scariest outings around.  On weekend nights, zombies, psychotic clowns & other terrifying creatures roam the park – it gives me nightmares just thinking about it!  Bingeman’s Scream Park claims to be Canada’s most terrifying haunted attraction & it just might be. One of their claims to fame is getting over 1200 people to “chicken out” last year.  How high will it be this year?  Haunt Manor in Niagara Falls also bills itself as one of Canada’s scariest attractions.  There are 9 attractions here including a haunted corn maze, hayride & haunted house & an illusionist.

The month of October makes me want to hide under the covers and wait until it’s safe to come out. If you’re like me, you might want to visit one of the less creepy, kid-friendly Halloween outings (think friendly witches & cute ghosts.) But, if you like to scream & be scared, there are plenty of activities to get you shaking in your boots. Beware!
