This very young brewery, founded in 2011, has been dubbed “one of Ontario’s most inventive brewers.” Their delicious beers, like the Hawaiian Style Pale Ale and Moroccan Brown Ale, have been winning awards since their inception due to their unique ingredients and brewing methods.

Just because Ontario is known for its grape wines & microbreweries doesn’t mean that is all we do. Toronto can now boast Eastern North America’s first sake brewery. Using traditional Japanese methods and recipes with spring water from Northern Ontario, we can taste fresh, unpasteurised, locally-brewed sake for the first time.

This colourful company has adopted the motto “normal is weird” – just check out their funky packaging! With names for their specialty beers like “38 Dark Chocolate Birthday Cake” and
“Smashjezebelhoneybomb”, their brews seem to be living up to their reputation.  The brewery also runs free daily tours with FREE samples!

The Georgian Bay area isn’t just for skiing anymore! Partners in Georgian Hills want to develop a successful wine industry there too. In addition to their exceptional cool climate white wines, and lighter reds, they also make icewines. Taste their medal winning iced fruit wines naturally frozen made from apple or pear too.

Named for the family’s beloved dachshunds, this winery has had their doors open since 2004. With the amazing soil of Prince Edward County and a tremendous amount of work and dedication, Long Dog Vineyard produces French style Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.  Come and visit during September/October during their tasting hours.

Ontario’s first certified Organic Winery, Frogpond Farm is the only certified Organic winery in Ontario that is dedicated to 100% organic wine.  The electricity on the farm is also 100% green, powered by Bullfrog Power using wind and low impact water power.  Come for a tour and check out one of their many delicious wines – including Chardonnays, Cabernet, Vidal, Riesling, icewine and more!

How cool is this? Thorold is known as Canada’s most patriotic city. Since 2007, a team of volunteers makes sure that every home has a Canadian flag and in 2011, there were 6722 flags. Maybe your city or town can beat that!
