Easter Fun in Ontario
By Sarah Tuesday, March 20, 2012
Easter is just around the corner and that means it’s time for Dad to put on that old musty bunny suit, while Mom hides the eggs throughout the house and yard. We know the kids are old enough to know it’s Dad hopping around the house and realize Mom is out back putting brightly colored plastic eggs behind the shrubs, but it is tradition and what else is there to do on Easter? We are glad you asked.
If you are in Ontario, Blue Mountain Village is a great place to celebrate your Easter Weekend. Easter in the Village has something for everyone during the Easter Long Weekend. The FREE family fun starts with an Easter egg hunt for the kids and continues with live music, face painting, and horse and carriage rides through the largest pedestrian village in Ontario! Join the Easter fun at Blue Mountain Village.
For those who aren’t in the mood for plastic eggs and happen to be frightened by giant Easter Bunnies, there is, luckily, another option – Hamilton Conservation Authority. Enjoy outdoor Ontario and have a chance to see actual bunnies and real eggs! For the first time ever, Valens Lake Conservation Area is accepting camping reservations for Easter Weekend (April 6-9, 2012). What better way could you celebrate the start of Spring than in some of the best natural surroundings Ontario has to offer? All of the campsites offer modern facilities paired with great service and value. Valens Lake is a 300-hectare outdoor paradise located near Cambridge in the headwaters of Spencer Creek. Dad can still bring his bunny suit, but remind him that Bigfoot loves rabbit.
So Mom and Dad, don’t spend your Easter face down in some bushes or sweeping up pieces of the vase you knocked over with your giant bunny hands. Instead, get out and enjoy what Ontario has to offer this Easter Weekend, whether it be camping in the great outdoors or enjoying a horse and carriage ride with your face painted like Spider Man.
