It may seem adventurous, but it is surprisingly smooth and is a wonderful way to see a fair amount of country in a short time. Because you don\u2019t need an airport, you can also take off and land anywhere, making a helicopter ideal for things like winery tours. Here are a few to check out: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centralhelicopters.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Central Helicopters Inc<\/a> does Muskoka tours.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagarahelicopters.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Niagara Helicopters Limited<\/a> offers the highest,\u00a0most spectacular view of the Falls. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fly1000islands.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">1000 Islands Helicopter Tours<\/a> in Gananoque lets you enjoy the 1000 Islands from the air.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1125\" src=\"\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/article2_mar92017.jpg\" alt=\"article2_mar92017\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Balloons<\/p>\n<p>Balloons offer a magical way to experience flight. They are a visual treat to view from the ground and are equally wonderful to go up in. For some reason, SW Ontario is a hotbed of balloon activity, but you can also enjoy a balloon experience elsewhere: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skywardballoons.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Skyward Balloons<\/a> Hot Air Balloon Rides operates out of\u00a0 Kitchener-Waterloo, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sundanceballoons.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Sundance Balloons <\/a>has locations in London, Kitchener, GTA &amp; Ottawa.<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1126\" src=\"\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/article3_mar92017.jpg\" alt=\"article3_mar92017\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4>Scenic flights<\/h4>\n<p>While the flights in this section are still on planes, these planes are very different from those that fly out of Toronto\u2019s Pearson or Ottawa\u2019s Macdonald\u2013Cartier Airports. These planes are small and only seat 2-3 people plus the captain. Book a sightseeing tour or try the fly in dining package at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flygenesis.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Genesis Flight Centre<\/a> &#8211; Scenic Flights out of Collingwood or treat yourself or someone else to a <a href=\"http:\/\/casmuseum.techno-science.ca\/en\/whats-on\/biplane-rides.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Vintage Biplane Experience<\/a> at the Canada Aviation Museum in Ottawa where you can fly in a vintage open-cockpit biplane.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1127\" src=\"\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/article4_mar92017.jpg\" alt=\"article4_mar92017\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Hang Gliding and Soaring\/Sailplanes\/Gliders<\/h4>\n<p>While the other options above are all engine-powered, this section offers the experience of a fully wind-powered flight. The most peaceful and silent of all the options, it is also the most adventurous! Try a tandem HangGliding flight at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flyhigh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">High Perspective Inc. <\/a>HangGliding in Pickering or try soaring in a motorless glider\/sailplane at either <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto-soaring.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Toronto Soaring Club<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yorksoaring.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">York Soaring Association<\/a> (SW) for a serene or extreme flight.<\/p>\n<p>Choose your adventure today!
