It is a fun month, that usually offers pretty good stretches of weather, lots of harvest foods and some scary goblins thrown in for good measure. Below are some places to enjoy October.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1856\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/article1_oct42018.jpg\" alt=\"halloween pumpkins in Ontario\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Pumpkins &amp; Mazes<\/h2>\n<p>Two fun things to do in October are picking (and carving) a pumpkin and getting lost in a corn maze. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.applewoodfarmwinery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Applewood Farm &amp; Winery<\/a> (Stouffville) specializes in Apples &amp; pumpkins. They also have a Corn Maze, Animal yard &amp; more. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatlakesfarms.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Great Lakes Farms<\/a>, Port Stanley is all about Fall! PYO apples, pumpkins, plus fresh baking and a corn-maze. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/companyprofile\/kustermans-berry-farms.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kustermans Family Fun<\/a> &amp; Berry Farm, Mount Brydges also has PYO pumpkins as well as farm fall fun like a corn maze and fall festival. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/companyprofile\/cooper-s-csa-farm-maze.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cooper\u2019s CSA Farm &amp; Maze<\/a>, Zephyr not only has pumpkins but also a 10 acre corn maze! <a href=\"http:\/\/ouimetfarms.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ouimet Farms Adventure<\/a>, Vankleek Hill has a giant Corn Maze as well as a pumpkin patch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1855\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/article2_oct42018.jpg\" alt=\"halloween haunted houses\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Spooky Stuff<\/h2>\n<p>While it isn\u2019t fun to be scared during the year, somehow, it is kindof cool to get terrified around Halloween. Go figure! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadaswonderland.com\/play\/events\/halloween-haunt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Canada\u2019s Wonderland Halloween Haunt<\/a> is bigger, better &amp; more terrifying this year, with horrifying mazes, scare zones, live shows + 700 monsters prowling the Park.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forthenry.com\/events\/fort-fright\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Fort Fright at Fort Henry<\/a> Oct 12 &#8211; 31, Kingston calls itself Ontario&#8217;s scariest haunted house and has attractions, scare scenes, scare actors &amp; technology to make sure you are terrified! Haunted Fort Night at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/companyprofile\/fort-william-historical-park.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fort William Historical Park<\/a> in Thunder Bay offers spooky tours of the dark Fort. Encounter strange tales, ghostly characters, shocking surprises &amp; Things That Go Bump in the Night.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1854\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/article3_oct42018.jpg\" alt=\"Halloween at Blue Mountain\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Events<\/h2>\n<p>There are loads of events going on all month long. How about taking a Halloween train ride? Dress up in your costume for a fun and spooky\u00a0train ride such as the one by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/companyprofile\/waterloo-central-railway-steam-train-excursions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Waterloo Central Railway<\/a>, St Jacob; the best costume gets to ride with the engineer.
