Anytime is a good time. Ontario has a wide range of galleries, ranging from National galleries to smaller, local galleries. It has new Canadian and Indigenous galleries, a Canadian Photography Institute &amp; world-class European &amp; contemporary art.\u00a0 It has a broad range of items while <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madonnahouse.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Madonna House Pioneer Museum<\/a> in Combermere (Eastern ON) has authentic artifacts, art, &amp; collectibles including a working Player Piano, that show the life of local pioneers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1969\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/article2_may22019.jpg\" alt=\"Art Gallery in Ontario\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Southwestern Ontario<\/h2>\n<p>There are several galleries in SW Ontario. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artgalleryofhamilton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Art Gallery of Hamilton<\/a> is the oldest &amp; largest art museum in Southern Ontario and has one of Canada&#8217;s best collections of Canadian, contemporary and international art. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citywindsor.ca\/Pages\/Home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Windsor Sculpture Park<\/a> has 31 large-scale, internationally recognized works of contemporary sculpture by world-renowned artists in its gallery without walls along the Windsor waterfront.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theclayandglass.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery<\/a> in Waterloo has free admission and\u00a0is the only Canadian art gallery exclusively dedicated to ceramic, glass, enamel &amp; stained glass.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1968\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/article3_may22019.jpg\" alt=\"Art Gallery of Ontario\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>GTA<\/h2>\n<p>When you come to Toronto, there is lots to do, but don\u2019t forget to visit its many galleries. There are several gallery districts with private galleries\u00a0 including the Yorkville\/Hazelton area but Toronto\u2019s public gallery scene is where it\u2019s at \u2013 it is world class! <a href=\"http:\/\/ago.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Art Gallery Of Ontario<\/a> (AGO) in Toronto has over 100,000 works of art, including the Group of Seven\u2019s signature works, &amp; cutting-edge contemporary art. <a href=\"http:\/\/mcmichael.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">McMichael Canadian Art Collection<\/a> in beautiful Kleinburg has an iconic collection of Canadian art, including Tom Thomson, First Nations, M\u00e9tis, Inuit and contemporary artists, all on 100 acres of woodland.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pama.peelregion.ca\/en\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Peel Art Gallery Museum<\/a> + Archives is housed in 150 yr old historic Peel County Courthouse and Jail. It features outstanding exhibitions and hands-on programming for all ages.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1967\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/article4_may22019.jpg\" alt=\"Indigenous and First Nations Ontario artists\" width=\"257\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Central and Northern<\/h2>\n<p>When you think about central and northern Ontario, you think about nature and outdoor beauty. But what you may forget is that all of that natural beauty also inspired some of Ontario\u2019s most famous artists. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pama.peelregion.ca\/en\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Maclaren Art Centre<\/a> is a public art museum in downtown Barrie with year-round contemporary art exhibitions, community art projects, family art workshops &amp; more. <a href=\"https:\/\/theag.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Thunder Bay Art Gallery<\/a> is the only public Gallery between Sault Ste Marie and Winnipeg, and focuses on the contemporary art of Indigenous and Northwestern Ontario artists.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the Art Galleries around Ontario specialize in a theme or period. Many also have programs and lectures that appeal to all age ranges. Next time you are looking for something to do, visit the Ar Gallery in your neighbourhood.
