Okay, so now that beaches are open and that summer holiday vacation you had planned has been cancelled, lets discuss Ontario beaches.\u00a0 Not just any ordinary beach, I\u2019m talking tropical beaches with white sand, turquoise water and yes even palm trees! With Canada Day around the corner forget your passport and start planning an Ontario Staycation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/visitsouthampton.ca\/profile\/southamptons-dunes-system\/880\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Southampton Dunes Beach<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2235\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-04-at-9.57.38-AM.png\" alt=\"Beach and water\" width=\"260\" height=\"133\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Every summer the town of Southampton transforms into the perfect beach oasis.\u00a0 Only a couple hours from Toronto you will find sandy shores stretching for kilometers that border clear blue waters and sand dunes.\u00a0 One unique and whimsical feature about this spot is their beach swings, that offer the perfect setting to sit and take in the famous sunsets setting against Lake Huron.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/sandhillpark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Port Dover Beach, Sand Hill Park<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2234\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-04-at-9.57.46-AM.png\" alt=\"Palm tree on a beach\" width=\"262\" height=\"139\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Be transported to the tropics with palm trees, clear warm water and soft shores.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sandhillpark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Sand Hill Park<\/a>\u00a0is located on the North shore of Lake Erie in Port\u00a0Burwell just a couple hours from Toornto.\u00a0 Towering more than 100 metres\u00a0above the white sandy beaches are massive sand dunes\u00a0that offer incredible views to take in a panoramic sunset.\u00a0 These sand dunes are actually Ontario&#8217;s\u00a0largest and tallest and is known as one of Ontario&#8217;s\u00a0natural wonders. If you have more time spend the weekend at one of the hundreds of camping sites available.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/explorethebruce.com\/profile\/the-grotto-indian-head-cove\/2274\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Bruce Peninsula National Park- Indian Head Cove &amp; The Grotto\u00a0<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2233\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-04-at-9.57.53-AM.png\" alt=\"Water and rocks\" width=\"256\" height=\"137\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Located a four hour\u00a0drive north of Toronto, in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tobermory.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Tobermory<\/a> this beach is known for its turquoise crystal clear lakes and rugged limestone coasts. A short 30 min hike through the forest will lead you to Indian Head Cove a small beach surrounded by cliffs and rocks. This is a popular area for cliff jumping.\u00a0 In this area you will also find The Grotto, a sea cave that you can climb down into filled with bright blue sparkling turquoise water that looks like its glowing! Insider tip, go in September when its less busy.\u00a0 Parking space is also limited and quickly fills up so use their reservation system in advance at <a href=\"https:\/\/reservation.pc.gc.ca\/BrucePeninsula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">www.reservation.pc.gc.ca<\/a>\u00a0or call 1-877-RESERVE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ontbluecoast.com\/listing\/canatara-park-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Canatara Beach\u00a0<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2232\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-04-at-9.58.01-AM.png\" alt=\"Ariel view of water and beach\" width=\"263\" height=\"142\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This blue flag beach located within Sarnia&#8217;s Cantara Park features a kilometer of beautiful sandy beach, clear waters and fun for the whole family.\u00a0 There is so much to do here besides suntan like explore the nature at Cantara Park, visit the animal farm or hit the BMX bike track, it\u2019s a great option that everyone will love.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/data\/parks\/prd\/facilities\/complex\/2261\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Sugar Beach\u00a0<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2231\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-04-at-9.58.06-AM.png\" alt=\"Pink umbrellas on a beach\" width=\"255\" height=\"134\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This white sand beach is an urban oasis right in downtown Toronto on Lake Ontario at Lower Jarvis.\u00a0 Although you can not swim at this beach it is the perfect rest spot to sit and relax from a busy day touring the streets of Toronto.\u00a0 The white sand, Muskoka chairs and perfectly placed pink umbrellas gives it an almost resort like feel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandriver.ca\/en\/outdoor-recreation\/Elora-Quarry.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Elora Quarry<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2230\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-04-at-9.58.13-AM.png\" alt=\"Body of water surrounded by cliffs\" width=\"263\" height=\"142\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A true tropical oasis, Elora Quarry is an hour northwest of the Toronto so the perfect day trip if you live in that area.\u00a0 These clear 2-acre turquoise waters are surrounded by beautiful limestone cliffs which are great for cliff jumping from the smaller 15ft cliffs and the shallow end allows safe fun in the water for the little ones.
