There\u2019s nothing that gets us more in the festive mood then heading out into the brisk night to sip a hot bevy and take in the twinkling lights and festive d\u00e9cor. Although this year Christmas is going to look a little different, there are still plenty of fun and vibrant activities across Ontario to keep us warm, bright and most importantly safe. Whether you\u2019re looking for unique drive-through events to see the Christmas lights or outdoor Christmas markets there\u2019s plenty to do in the following months to get you into the holiday spirit. We\u2019ve showcased our highlights here.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Ottawa, ON<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2519\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Screen-Shot-2020-11-19-at-10.08.57-AM.png\" alt=\"Christmas lights in a city\" width=\"262\" height=\"138\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Take note, Canada! The most iconic place to see the holiday lights this season will be across our nation\u2019s capital in its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/canadian-heritage\/campaigns\/christmas-lights.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Christmas Lights Across Canada<\/a>\u00a0program, adorning its national museums, embassies and other iconic institutions and you\u2019ll be able to see it from province to province in a virtual show. In person, you\u2019ll be able to gaze at the artistic light installation, Entre les rangs, on Parliament Hill from November 30 to January 7. Beloved holiday scenes and characters differentiate the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/magicoflights.com\/events\/ottawa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Magic of Lights<\/a>, a sparkling holiday lights drive-through experience. Digital animations and LED technology will also be at the forefront of this experience. Bundle up the family and make this a tradition, one where your ticket will benefit the Children\u2019s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Greater Toronto Area (GTA)<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Screen-Shot-2020-11-19-at-10.09.03-AM.png\" alt=\"Car driving through a tunnel of lights\" width=\"254\" height=\"130\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Toronto is chock-full of exciting outdoor events this season! The various light tunnels will lead you to Santa along the way. Canadian Tire\u2019s multi-sensory\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ctchristmastrail.cventevents.com\/event\/1f0f8942-5f7f-489f-8806-f78b9d5cd0c5\/summary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Christmas Trail<\/a>\u00a0features a larger-than-life event and for you to capture a creative photo with Santa. In Burlington, the Hendrie Park has been transformed into seven magical displays of winter discovery, hosted by the Royal Botanical Gardens in its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbg.ca\/things-to-do\/by-season\/winter-wonders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Winter Wonders<\/a>\u00a0exhibit. The holiday spirit is alive in Richmond Hill\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/streeteatsmarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Holiday Street Market<\/a>\u00a0hosted by Street Eats Market. Shop from local artisans, fill up at the food trucks and snap a portrait at the selfie station amidst the twinkling lights. Bundle up the kids in their wagons or strollers to Kortright Centre\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kortright.org\/event\/magical-christmas-forest-2020\/?instance_id=596\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Magical Christmas Forest<\/a>\u00a0for an enchanting two hour experience of lights, crafts, activities and treats!\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickettailor.com\/events\/bluffswinterwonderland\/445846\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Bluff\u2019s Winter Wonderland<\/a>\u00a0is making its debut this year. Amidst the backdrop of the majestic Bluffer\u2019s Park West, its west parking lot is being transformed into Reindeer Way, Snowman City and an Enchanted Forest that will make for wonderful holiday memories. Book in advance for tours.\u00a0In Northern Ontario, don\u2019t miss the opportunity to see the lighting of Ramsey Lake for its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sudburycharities.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Festival of Lights<\/a>.
