Ontario is well-known for its beautiful wine regions, the Niagara Peninsula, the north shore of Lake Erie and Prince Edward County.\u00a0 Beyond those areas, there are lots of equally amazing wineries sprinkled throughout other places in Ontario as well.\u00a0 When you\u2019re looking for a uniquely Ontario way to kick back and relax with friends check out one of these beautiful wineries and taste some local goodness.\u00a0 These days, most wineries require reservations, so be sure to reserve a spot ahead of time.\u00a0 Now time to \u2018sip\u2019 back and relax.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Niagara Region<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3457\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Screen-Shot-2021-08-18-at-2.54.11-PM.png\" alt=\"People enjoying ice wine \" width=\"259\" height=\"142\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Niagara wine region is world-renowned for its wine (specifically its icewine).\u00a0 Niagara\u2019s fertile soils and unique microclimate make it a prime grape-growing region for cool climate winemaking.\u00a0 The limestone ridge of the Niagara Escarpment means the landscape views rivals the best of \u2018em. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peller.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Peller Estates<\/a> has been making wine for 50 years in the Niagara Region.\u00a0 With plenty of tours and options to choose from you can taste wine in the barrel cellar, on the patio, in the Estate vineyard or in the igloo-like ice lounge which is kept at &#8211; 10\u00ba C.\u00a0 This is a great choice for an established Ontario winery to visit. We must pay homage to the Ontario-grown Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky by including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gretzkyestateswines.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Wayne Gretzky Estates<\/a> winery.\u00a0 As one of the newer wineries, it\u2019s got a state-of-the-art modern building that houses Niagara\u2019s only winery\/distillery combo.\u00a0 There\u2019s a Whiskey Bar, patio, beer garden, regular outdoor events, and even an ice rink in the winter months. Have a slow sensory experience at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.triuswines.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Trius Wines<\/a>, who\u2019ve been in the winemaking business for 30 years. Their wines and culinary dishes are inspired by the local seasonal evolution of the lands that surround them.\u00a0 Sip, sample and shop your way through the Trius Winery.\u00a0 Enjoy a dining\/wine tasting experience in one of the outdoor domes, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mywinecountry.com\/on\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">My Wine Country<\/a> offers a tour called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mywinecountry.com\/on\/mwc-tour.html%22%20%5Cl%20%222021-08-06%7C1%7C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">myWineCountry Tour<\/a> that takes you to hospitality scene and the fact that it\u2019s so close to beautiful parks and bodies of water is a major draw to the area. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.normanhardie.com\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Norman Hardie Winery<\/a> is built into a limestone hill in Prince Edward County.\u00a0 The combo in the land of clay and limestone leads to delicious Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and cool climate wines.\u00a0 Visit the tasting bar, have pizza straight from the outdoor pizza oven on the scenic patio or fresh P.E.I oysters and in-house smoked Ontario trout. <a to charm you.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clossonchase.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Closson Chase Vineyards<\/a> is best known for its Instagram-worthy big purple barn and delicious wine.\u00a0 Closson Chase was an early adopter of sustainable practices and craft intentional wine using centuries-old European traditions.\u00a0 Book yourself in for a curated
