While a sun holiday is always nice, we don\u2019t always have the time (or funds) to escape far. However, a change of scenery close to home offers an equally great break and we\u2019ve got some great options in Ontario for a 3-4 day getaway.<\/p>\n<p>Casinos<\/p>\n<p>We always think of Vegas or Atlantic City but Ontario has a bunch of casinos too. And the silence and camaraderie and thrill of ice fishing or hunting can make it a perfect getaway. Sitting around a hole in the ice and drinking hot chocolate (or something stronger), waiting for the bite and talking about both the ones you landed and the ones that got away are a perfect recipe for making memories that will last forever.\u00a0 While <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/northern-ontario\/fishing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Northern Ontario<\/a> has some of the best opportunities in completely remote and unspoiled nature, there are lots of places in Central Ontario too. With options ranging from guided hiking and snowshoeing to yoga and exercise classes to straight out pampering at a spa, one of Ontario\u2019s accommodations is sure to help you come home rejuvenated. The small camps and shelters along the paths offer scenic locations to have a snack, warm up or stay overnight. In fact, many of the hotels and resorts and inns have some pretty great food themselves. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.princeedwardcountywine.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Prince Edward County<\/a> and Niagara on the Lake both pride themselves on making food a key part of every experience.<\/p>\n<p>Shopping<\/p>\n<p>They don\u2019t call it retail therapy for nothing! A little shopping trip can definitely make you feel like a whole new you! Luckily, Ontario has started to benefit from the outlet mall trend and now we don\u2019t have to cross the border to take advantage of all the great deals. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tangeroutletcanada.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Tanger Outlets<\/a> Cookstown was one of the early ones and their recent major renovation has made them even more of a draw, and they\u2019re now in Ottawa too. You can do some damage at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadaoneoutlets.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Canada One Brand Name Outlets<\/a> in Niagara and once you\u2019re in Niagara, don\u2019t forget about Canada\u2019s largest open air outlet mall &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/ivanhoecambridge.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Outlet Collection<\/a> at Niagara. Last but not least, check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.premiumoutlets.com\/toronto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Toronto Premium Outlets<\/a> &#8211; you might know them from the US, but this is their first Canadian centre. So take a break from real life and shop til you drop; when you\u2019re all dressed in your new gear, you\u2019ll be good to go for another season!<\/p>\n<p>Tis the season for a quick getaway. There are lots of options for either your girlfriends or your bros, or bring your siblings or folks (or both) and make it a family reunion! Ontario has whatever kind of getaway helps you recharge.
