Consider joining a tour or at the very least, take advantage of the audio-guides many galleries offer so you can get the most out of your visit. From the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artgalleryofmississauga.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Art Gallery of Mississauga<\/a>, The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pama.peelregion.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Peel Art Gallery<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ago.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">AGO<\/a> in Toronto, to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theag.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Thunder Bay Art Gallery<\/a> in Northern Ontario to the 3rd largest public art gallery in Ontario at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artgalleryofhamilton.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Art Gallery of Hamilton<\/a>, to the Nation\u2019s Capital\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ottawaartgallery.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ottawa Art Gallery<\/a> and world famous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallery.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">National Gallery of Canada<\/a>, we in Ontario have opportunities to appreciate art at the highest levels. Check out the incredible creations that people can make with their hands. Photography is another way that people make art in Ontario. However, there are a few places that focus exclusively on contemporary art. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.railsendgallery.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Rails End Gallery<\/a> and Arts Centre (Haliburton) offers contemporary art in a historic rail station while the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepowerplant.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery<\/a> at Toronto\u2019s Harbourfront Centre is Canada&#8217;s leading public\u00a0gallery\u00a0devoted exclusively to contemporary\u00a0visual\u00a0art.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-983\" src=\"\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Screen-shot-2016-02-26-at-11.36.01-AM-300x166.png\" alt=\"Screen shot 2016-02-26 at 11.36.01 AM\" width=\"300\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Screen-shot-2016-02-26-at-11.36.01-AM-300x166.png 300w, https:\/\/www.summerfunguide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Screen-shot-2016-02-26-at-11.36.01-AM.png 667w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Outdoor or non-traditional<\/p>\n<p>Who says that art is just what one finds in a building called a gallery? Certainly not us! We\u2019ve found a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegroupofsevenoutdoorgallery.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery<\/a> with more than 100 murals throughout Huntsville, and Heritage and Historic Murals in Pembroke and downtown Midland.\u00a0 We\u2019ve also found a <a href=\"http:\/\/haliburtonsculptureforest.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Sculpture Forest<\/a> in Haliburton as well as over 55 tree sculptures in Orangeville\u2019s Art Walk of Tree Sculptures. Finally, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citywindsor.ca\/residents\/Culture\/Windsor-Sculpture-Park\/Pages\/Windsor-Sculpture-Park.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Windsor Sculpture Park<\/a> is a museum without walls, with more than 31 large-scale, internationally recognized works of contemporary sculpture by world-renowned artists (and it is\u00a0 FREE).<\/p>\n<p>Art\u2019s beauty is in the eye of the beholder \u2013 you may love something and I may feel like my 6 year old can create it \u2013 but that is what is wonderful about art. Everyone can find something that speaks to them. You might not find it the first go-around, but we can virtually guarantee that if you make the rounds of the galleries in Ontario, you will find something to fall in love with. Art brings light and culture and discussion and colour into our lives and when we make an effort to learn about it, it brings even more!
