Doran Bay Model Ship Museum


Visit one of the WORLD'S FINEST private collections of model ships housed in a restored 1880s home overlooking the St Lawrence River's Iroquois Seaway Lock/Dam.

The collection traces the history of sail around the world, from Egyptian ships to modern transatlantic steamers. Four types of ships are represented in painstaking detail using original plans and fine exotic woods. See Ships of world discovery, ea clippers, 16th- and 17th-century capital ships & ships related to the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. The 14 War of 1812 ships represent the largest such collection in the world!

This incredible collection consists of over 125 model ships, which revolve in and out of the public presentation, with about half on display at any time.

Young and old alike marvel at the detailed carvings, intricate rigging & amazing histories of the ships & miniature military figures on display.

Air conditioned/handicap accessible. Tour & bus groups welcome. Free guided tours are available upon advance request.
