St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival

The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival presents lively, music-filled productions in a beautiful amphitheatre in Prescott overlooking the St Lawrence River. The Festival is now in its 12th year of critically acclaimed productions.

The Company began to take shape in 2002 after Deborah Smith of Chesterville brought a small, self-produced, touring production of Romeo and Juliet to the area. The community was charmed by the idea of having live theatre in its midst and it was agreed that the Company could utilize the outdoor amphitheatre for a full production of The Tempest in the summer of 2003. The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival was born and has grown to be a thriving, award-winning company known for its lively, music-filled, accessible productions.

A unique waterfront amphitheatre by St. Lawrence River. Only professional outdoor theatre in St. Lawrence Seaway area - a magnificent natural setting. See Antony & Cleopatra, The Three Musketeers & The Complete Works of William Shakespeare!
