Description
The Eden Mills Writers’ Festival is an annual literary festival that showcases the very best of established and emerging Canadian writing in an idyllic outdoor setting on the banks of the Eramosa River. On Friday September 6, the EMWF brings together two best-selling Canadian authors for the opening night of the festival. Marina Endicott and Guy Gavriel Kay will appear on stage together for the first time, to discuss their craft and the role of the past in their respective novels. Opening the evening will be Garry Thomas Morse, reading from Safety Sand, his most recent collection of poetry, accompanied by Juno-award-winning cellist, Matt Brubeck. Festival Sunday, the main event, will welcome more than 50 writers to the village of Eden Mills on Sunday September 8, 2019. Some of our acclaimed authors include Anakana Schofield, Emma Donoghue, Terry Fallis, Lynn Coady, Linden MacIntyre, Marie-Louise Gay, Catherine Porter, and Lee Maracle. We are excited to present an array of genres, from graphic novels, to poetry, to memoirs. The festival provides stimulating, thought-provoking and entertaining programming for all ages—children, youth and adults. Join us September 6-8, 2019 and discover your next great read!
