Spring Toad and Salamander Festival
Toronto Zoo, 2000 Meadowvale Rd, Toronto, ON M1B 5K7
May 04 2019 to May 04 2019
Region : Greater Toronto Area City: Toronto
Description
Celebrate the arrival of spring by experiencing the sights and sounds of amorous male toads in search of that special someone! Our annual wetland festival is scheduled around the explosive breeding ritual of American toads at our very own Americas Wetlands Outdoor Exhibit. Although the emergence and courtship of toads is the main event, there are heaps of other fun activities for children and adults alike, including: air brush tattoos, frog themed games like “Fish for a Prize,” Toady the Mascot, and information on how to become a Frog Watcher or Turtle Detective using our improved online form and new app. It’s “toad-ally” fun for the whole family! Kids 12 and under can enjoy the bouncy castle with a $2 donation (waiver is required). Frog and toad wristbands are available for $2 purchase. Event free with zoo admission. All proceeds support the Adopt-A-Pond Wetland Conservation Program, whose conservation projects target wetlands and species such as the Blanding’s turtle and Massasauga rattlesnake.
