What are YOU going to do this weekend?            August 28, 2012
Where to Watch and Witness the Animal Kingdom

Nothing’s better than getting out and enjoying Mother Nature. We’ve found some great places in Ontario to see birds and butterflies flitter and fly. So come out, turn your head to the sky and marvel at some of nature’s smallest wonders.

Get up close to butterflies here! Witness the transformation of caterpillars into beautiful, exotic butterflies. With species from Asia, and South and Central America, you can see these delicate creatures from around the world without ever leaving the province. Explore the conservatory to see these amazing butterflies at work and play.

This is the largest free-flying indoor aviary in the world! Home to more than 400 different birds, the Bird Kingdom is multi-level rainforest with a 40-foot waterfall! Check out the nocturnal room to see creatures of the night or get up close and personal in the encounter room. A definite must for bird watchers!

Amongst tropical plants, see over 400 exotic butterflies emerge from their cocoons and fly free in this glass sanctuary. Examine the butterflies up close, have all your questions answered, and then go explore all the other amazing exhibits Science North has to offer.

In this incredible habitat, you’ll find 2000 butterflies of at least 40 different species. This conservatory is also home to birds, bugs and exotic plants. Explore on your own or join a guided tour!

No matter what part of the animal kingdom has sparked your interest, Summer Fun Guide knows where to find it all in Ontario. So check out our Animals and Zoos page for your next wild adventure!
