Beach Bums, Unite!

It seemed like quite a while before the beautiful summer weather descended on Ontario, but now that it’s here, let’s take advantage of it! All over the province, we’ve got beaches for every kind of traveller and occasion. Whether it’s a family camping trip, a party with friends, or a romantic getaway, pack up your sunscreen and head out to the beach!

Here are a few spots around Ontario to check out:

Sandbanks Provincial Park (Eastern Ontario)

City of Toronto Beaches (GTA)

Here in Prince Edward County, you’ll find gorgeous white sand dunes and golden beaches. The province has also put efforts back into revitalizing dune plants and vegetation, so you can feel good about your environmental footprint here.

If you have a hard time getting out of the city, you can still get your vitamin D by visiting one of Toronto’s many beaches. Head out to Ward Island, or walk along the boardwalk in the city.

Kettle Lakes Provincial Park (Northern Ontario)

Wasaga Beach (Central Ontario)

This park has over 20 deep, spring-fed kettle lakes. You can reach them by trail, and spend a relaxing few days swimming, paddling and fishing. You can also camp overnight, so bring your tent!

This is the world’s longest freshwater beach, and plays host to over 2 million people each year. You can also golf, hike, or drive go-carts.

Summer sunshine is an amazing time in Ontario, and what better way to enjoy it than in the water and on the sand? Wherever you are in the province, make sure to get out to a beach this July! For more ideas, visit our Parks, Beaches & Gardens page.
