What are YOU going to do this weekend?

Tea (or a glass of wine) for Two!

Jacqueline Bisset once said: “Ideally, couples need three lives; one for him, one for her, and one for them together.” For some of those “together” times, we love to get away to really focus on one another.  Below are some ideas for a few days or a week-long escape. For others, don’t forget to visit and check categories like Hotel Accommodations, Resorts and Spas, Wineries & Microbreweries, Outdoor Adventures and more!

article1_sept72017.jpgThere is nothing more romantic than visiting a beautiful hotel, resort or spa with your loved one. Port Cunnington Lodge & Resort, on the shores of Lake of Bays, has campfires, canoeing, fishing & more.  Sherwood Inn is close to famous Port Carling & winner of the Wine Spectator award. If you’re in Collingwood, Scandinave Spa Blue has an outdoor Scandinavian Baths experience nestled in the heart of nature. Cobble Beach Resort is  a 4 Season Waterfront Golf Resort on 574 acres, with inn & spa.  Killarney Mountain Lodge is known for its friendly ambiance, distinctive cuisine & exciting outdoor wilderness adventures. You can’t go wrong with any of them!

article2_sept72017.jpgRomance and wine go together like cheese & crackers (also good with wine)! Here are some Ontario wineries to visit:  Holland Marsh Wineries uses Ontario grapes grown in the Marsh for its unique flavor.  Rockway Vineyards not only has handcrafted small lot wines, but also championship golf!  Burning Kiln Winery kiln-dries its grapes to make its award-winning wines. Magnotta Winery has locations in Beamsville & Vaughan and is Canada's most award-winning winery. Mill Street Brewpub Ottawa is perfect for those who aren’t into wine with 14 delicious craft brews on tap. Or take a tour with Niagara Vintage Wine Tours, TripAdvisor’s #1 rated wine tour company.

article3_sept72017.jpgHolding hands and sharing an adventure can bring any couple closer! Algonquin Highland Trails include 38 km of back-country hiking & walking trails through forests & near rivers. At Eco-Odyssée, take a paddle boat through an award-winning 6km water maze. Point Pelee National Park has birds, butterflies and guided Freighter Canoe Tours! Algonquin Outfitters creates memories through canoe trips, complete outfitting or day trip experiences in Algonquin Park. Love to ride horses? Pathways on Pleasure Valley has 225 acres of breathtaking scenery & tranquil forest for your horseback trail experience!

article4_sept72017.jpgIf you don’t have time to get away, why not book a tour for a few hours? Take a Haunted Walk of Kingston, Ottawa or Toronto and hear ghost stories by lantern light. Or visit the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre Centre to tour the last operating “double-decker” theatre in the world & see the world’s largest collection of vaudeville scenery. Are there foodies out there? Why not combine a tour with nibbles of food and drink along the way? It’s a great date! Taste DeTours in Guelph offers guided food tastings and cultural walking tours.  Beer Lovers' Tour Company in Toronto has a Beer and Chocolate Tour, among others. What could be more romantic than that!?  They also do European Beer Tours, if you have the time to get away.
