This major retrospective celebrates Alex Janvier’s lifetime of creativity, knowledge and perspective, gained through his love of the land, art and Dene culture. Come discover more than 150 remarkable paintings and drawings, including works that have never been on public display and well-known masterpieces. Visitors will have an unprecedented opportunity to appreciate Janvier’s unique style, with its vivid colours and calligraphic lines. He combines Denesuline iconography with Western art styles and techniques, such as automatic painting and modernist abstraction.
