  •  Add to Calendar 2022-06-24 2022-06-26 America/Toronto "TAY" Canada Day Celebrations After a 2-year COVID-19 hiatus, we are happy to announce that on the 24th & 25th June 2022 Tay Township will be celebrating Canada’s 155th Birthday. In addition, Tay Township will be celebrating its 200th Anniversary. Whereas, in 1822, Tay Township was named after a pet dog of Lady Sarah Maitland (1792-1873), wife of Sir Peregrine Maitland, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada. The unwavering support of one and all is what has makes our event so special, to the point that it has grown into one of the most favourite celebrations to attend in the area. It is not only a family affair, overflowing with events for all ages, but also encompasses 2 adult evenings filled with camaraderie, song and dance. To this end, we are submitting our request early in hopes that The Faris Team will consider supporting our magnanimous event. Each year, we pull out all stops and organize two days of non-stop entertainment and this year is no exception. On Friday, a fantastic Beatles/Beach Boys and American Graffiti Tribute Band will have everyone dancing and singing to all the old hits. On Saturday evening, after a full afternoon of local entertainment, The Dynamic & #1 rated AC/DC Tribute Band, 21 Gun Salute from Montreal will rock the venue. Saturday commences with the ever-popular Canada Day Parade at 12 noon and FREE Hamburgers & Sausages for the entire community. Albeit, we are still in the planning stages, the afternoon will be filled with entertainment for one and all, (40 stall contingent of artisans), (Exotic Petting Zoo, Face Painters, Balloon Twisters, Juggling uni-cyclist etc.) This is indeed a celebration not to be missed 290 Park Street - "Under the Big Top" Harry Gerstheimer gheimer@rogers.com
