For more than two decades, the festival has brought people together through the universal language of the drum. This year, that tradition continues with an exciting international program featuring Muhtadi World Drummers, Joaquin Hidalgo Nunes and Toronto’s Rumberos, Amara Kanté, Steafan Hannigan Family, Baque de Bamba, Samba Squad, Isshin Daiko, Maracatu Mar Aberto and Hummingbird Tassa, with additional artists still to be announced. From African and Caribbean rhythms to Brazilian samba and maracatu, Japanese taiko and other global drumming traditions, this is a celebration of the incredible diversity of rhythm and culture that makes Toronto such a vibrant city. Come hear the drums. Come dance. Come celebrate. Come be part of the rhythm.
