For more than two decades, the festival has brought people together through the universal language of the drum, and this year, that tradition continues with an exciting international program. From African and Caribbean rhythms to Brazilian samba and maracatu, Japanese taiko and other global drumming traditions, this is a celebration of the incredible diversity of rhythm and culture that makes Toronto such a vibrant city. Come hear the drums. Come dance. Come celebrate. Come be part of the rhythm. The Muhtadi International Drumming Festival is a place where all cultures come together, drumming and dancing to one beat.
