Cruise Ontario on a boat or kayak

A boat cruise or kayak ride can be a really relaxing way to spend a summer day. There are so many companies around Ontario that offer tours of the area where you can see beautiful sites, learn the history of the region & relax with a good meal or a cold drink.

In Central Ontario, there are lots of places to cruise. Midland & Penetang Tours offers tours of Georgian Bay, Kempenfelt Bay & the Trent Severn River. Casino Rama Tour packages are also available. Orillia Boat Cruises offers a variety of public cruises on Lake Couchiching or book a private group. Step back in time and take a cruise on a historic boat such as the RMS Segwun (built in 1887) or the newly refurbished 1910 SS Bigwin Steamship. The Segwun cruises on the Muskoka lakes while the SS Bigwin rides the Lake of Bays; choose from a public, or private cruise or one of the Bigwin’s experiential cruises, like a morning yoga boat cruise or Father’s Day beer tasting cruise.

A visit to Point Pelee National Park will take you to mainland Canada’s southernmost point. It’s a beautiful oasis known for its incredible birdwatching & water adventures. More than half of the park is made up of freshwater marshes, so it’s a great idea to explore the area by boat. Rent a canoe or kayak & take a relaxing paddle through the marshes or join a 10 person guided Freighter Canoe Tour.

Island Queen Cruise

Explore the majestic 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay aboard the Island Queen Cruise. This 550 passenger boat offers daily morning & afternoon cruises (during the summer months.) During your 2 hour morning cruise or 3 hour afternoon cruise you’ll glide through the area in comfort as you take in the beauty of the freshwater islands of the region, the rugged wilderness & the sprawling summer cottages. The boat is equipped with washrooms, a snack bar, plenty of comfortable seating & a commentary to inform you about all that you’re seeing. Cruises depart from Parry Sound.

Hornblower Niagara Cruises

If you want to get up close & personal with one of the world’s must-see natural wonders, then you’ll want to board the Hornblower for a cruise of Niagara Falls. Get your rain gear ready because you’re going to get wet! The cruise will take you past the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls & Horseshoe Falls. Different cruises are available like the incredible sunrise cruise or the nightly illumination cruise where you’ll see the incredible illumination of the Falls. Voyage to the Falls tours leave every 15 minutes & are 45 minutes in length.
