Lavender season typically begins in late June and continues into early August, with peak bloom occurring in early to mid-July. Many farms require advance reservations during their busiest weekends, so it’s always a good idea to book ahead.

Are There Lavender Farms in Northern Ontario?

Due to the region’s shorter growing season, Northern Ontario has very few commercial lavender farms. If you’re hoping to experience large lavender fields, Southern, Central and Eastern Ontario offer the widest selection of farms, festivals and visitor experiences.

 

When Does Lavender Bloom in Ontario?

Although bloom times vary depending on weather, here’s a general guide:
Late June: Lavender begins to bloom.
Early to mid-July: Peak bloom and the best time for photography.
Late July: Harvest season begins at many farms.
Early August: Some fields continue blooming, while others begin transitioning into harvest.

Planning your visit during the first half of July will typically give you the most vibrant displays.

Prince Edward County Lavender Festival – Hillier

One of Ontario’s best-known lavender festivals, this annual event combines fragrant fields, culinary lavender treats, local food vendors, shopping and live entertainment. Admission is $12.50, with free admission for children 12 and under.
