AUGUST LONG WEEKEND FESTIVALS & EVENTS

As the summer sun gradually gives way to the crisp embrace of fall, there’s no better way to bid farewell to the season than by embracing the Labour Day long weekend. Whether you’re a music lover, a foodie, a history enthusiast, or simply seeking family-friendly fun, Ontario has something for everyone. Join us as we explore some of the most anticipated festivals and events happening across the province during this Labour Day long weekend.

 

GTA REGION

The CNE in Toronto features a blend of everything — thrilling rides, international cuisine, live performances, shopping, and more. It’s the perfect place to spend a day or even the entire weekend as there is so much to see. Toronto International Buskerfest, happening September 1 – 4th at Woodbine Park, transforms the park into a whimsical wonderland of mesmerizing performances by talented street artists.This annual festival delights visitors with its eclectic mix of acrobatics, music, comedy, and visual arts. Prepare to be dazzled at the 4th Toronto Dragon Festival, featuring Asian street food, live performances and the unprecedented water show extravaganza performed in Nathan Phillips Square from September 1st to 3rd. The Canadian International Air Show (CIAS) takes off Saturday, showcasing air displays of military jets, vintage warbirds and thrilling aerobatics over the course of 3-days in Toronto.

 

SOUTHWESTERN ON

Enjoy a family event filled with entertainment, exhibits and competitions, midway and so much more at the Paris Fair, Aug 31- Sept 4th. Enjoy watching the parade at the Harrow Fair Aug 31- Sept 3rd. Enjoy agricultural exhibits, livestock competitions, crafts, baking, canning, photography, midway and food booths

 

NIAGARA REGION

Step back in time at the Marshville Heritage Festival, Sept 2-4th, featuring a vintage car show, over 100 juried crafters, horse & wagon rides, entertainment all weekend for all ages, Sunday Evening Concert in the Park, and more! In St Catharines, the annual Niagara Greek Festival takes place Sept. 1- 4th. Experience a true Greek celebration with traditional music and the Kalamatiano, Tsamiko, Zeimbekiko and other Greek dances. To catch some fireworks enjoy a spectacular display of Canada’s longest-running fireworks series hosted by Niagara Parks against the backdrop of the magnificent falls. The Merritton Lions Club’s Community Days Festival, Sept. 1 to 4th will also feature fireworks, midways and games, vendors and market places, entertainment and more!

 

EASTERN REGION

Check out the Perth Fair, Sept. 1-4th for four days of agricultural fun with agricultural displays, shows, contests, sales, vendors, food, midway, music, demolition derby and lots more. Enjoy fun for the whole family at the Quinte Exhibition featuring entertainment, livestock shows, midway and more.
